Concepting...

The first week of school has come and gone, the shock of it taking my immune system down. The stress of comprehending the upcoming term coupled with shooting photos in freezing cold weather has given me a cold. I'm trying my best to power through but it's not coming easy. I hear a bowl of Pho calling my name in the immediate future, which is a half hour from now.

I've got a grip of projects on my plate, the one I'm working on at the moment is a gig poster for the upcoming Newspapers show at the Tube on the 25th of February. Below you'll see a page from my sketchbook where I'm figuring out the concept for the poster. I'm going to be illustrating a reel of paper winding it's way throughout a isometric neighborhood, with the paper either ending up shredded or distributed via trucks at the end, I'm not quite sure where I'm going to take it at this point. In a related note, the Newspapers have an upcoming show this wednesday at Holocene opening up for the stellar MGMT. I've been checking them out on Hypemachine. I suggest you do the same, they made the BBC's top sounds of 2008 forecast, and deservedly so. I'll be at the show shooting photos, so stop by, grab a drink and say hello.

Fog Machines and Lazers

If 2006 was the year of clouds and magic and 2007 was year of the dynamic flourish device, then my prediction for the great 2008 is that it'll be the year of fog machines and lazers. Now I don't know what this means at the moment, but it sounds fitting.

In a possibly related note. I invested in a Canon D-SLR Camera. I want to take my photography to the next level. I feel that it's an important step in the evolution of my design practice. I'll be uploading a lot more photos onto flickr from now on. So now, if you happen to need a portrait, event, pet or whatever shot, I can produce. I'm really stoked about the possibilities.

About Me
